Indoors or out, it is important to keep moving during this difficult period.

We have seen all leisure centres, gyms and many social activities closed due to governmental advice. Therefore, physical activity or your usual exercise routine might no longer be possible if you're avoiding social contact, working from home or a member of a social group, activity or gym.

However, we know that regular exercise is still extremely important for both your health and mental wellbeing.  Can I ask for your ideas, thoughts and offers of support to help people stay active, even if they are self-isolating.

These are a few ideas that might get the conversation started:

  1. Home workout videos that could be hosted on Cornwall Link and other websites.
  2. Enjoy some of the beautiful Cornish walks and outdoor spaces, remembering to practise social distancing.
  3. Share web-based exercise and movement guides that are simple and easy to follow.
  4. Stay in touch with your fitness community online - e.g. Skype, Zoom or by creating a project space on Cornwall Link.
  5. Develop digital tool-kits that can keep us all moving, whatever our age.

If you have an idea that could be hosted on Cornwall-Link COVID-19 support space - please contact me here or drop me an email on lee@ageukcornwall.org.uk.

Idea #1. Added by Kerry Martin | 3 months ago

How about Joe Wicks, Body Coach. He is live Monday - Friday at 9am on his YouTube Channel doing Kids PE while the children are off school.

When you rate an idea, we calculate the most or least popular ideas using a simple scoring formula (+2, +1, 0, -1, -2). Please be honest - your rating is important but also anonymous.

This is an excellent idea, thanks Kerry. I will see if Joe is happy for some of his content to be uploaded to Cornwall Link's support pages - this could be a perfect fit for both parents and children.
