About
Inspire, motivate and promote self belief
Active Plus
Active Plus use the skills, experience and expertise of injured military veterans to deliver unique programmes that build confidence, communication, motivation and self-belief; unlocking and nurturing the potential of participants regardless of their background and circumstance.
We work to inspire teams, support Veterans and the wider community.
Our ethos is about people helping themselves through helping others.
We believe feeling good about yourself and being confident in your abilities opens up new opportunities and builds resilient communities. With renewed self-esteem and positivity, we help to reduce social isolation, improve health and wellbeing and build community cohesion.
We currently run a variety of programmes, each tailored to meet the needs of specific groups:
"Military Partners Career Pathways"
Military Partners Career Pathways is a targeted employment and wellbeing programme supporting partners of serving Armed Forces personnel and reservists across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The project provides tailored one-to-one coaching and peer support through a Change Coach with lived experience of military family life. The programme is designed to address the unique barriers military partners face, including disrupted career progression, social isolation, reduced confidence, and limited access to training and employment opportunities.
"Military Roots"
The Cornwall Council Education Businness Partnership and Active Plus CIC are working in partnershipp to deliver "Military Roots" which is delivered as part of the Service Pupil Programme funded by Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.
The project is designed to improve confidence, connection, aspirations and self-belief in secondary school students in Cornwall who have a parent(s) currently serving in HM Armed Forces. The project builds knowledge, awareness and confidence for professionals who are supporting service pupils in their schools. Pupils and professionals will connect, which will see a community of practice develop during the life of the project.
"Armed Forces Community Social Prescribing"
This is a specialist servce to help address a range of health needs and inequalities experienced by the Armed Forces Community.
The project is designed to support people from the Armed Forces Community in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly. Bespoke, intervention will be provided via an experienced Armed Forces Community Social Prescribing Link Worker.
"Connecting Communities: Veterans Inspiring People"
Linking local people in Camborne, Pool and Redruth with Community resources.
The Connecting Communities: Veterans Inspiring People project aims to improve community cohesion as it places veterans and the wider community at the heart of its delivery.
The project aims to engage with and improve the lives of people in the Cornish community who are inactive and therefore at higher risk of social isolation, ill-health and poor wellbeing.
