About

Konnect Communities works to enable, motivate and inspire people who are seeking to maximise their potential.

Konnect Communities works to enable, motivate and inspire people in our communities who are seeking to improve their skills, develop their opportunities and maximise their potential. We work with a wide range of individuals including victims and offenders of crime, and young people struggling to remain in education.

We know that the expertise of the practitioner and the strength of their relationship with the client is the strongest determinant of the impact of a service.

The aim of Konnect is to work closely with clients, to create a tailored and supported pathway that supports the development and enhancement of life skills so that clients are enabled to participate in a positive and constructive future.

In order to achieve this, Konnect provides a needs-based service that includes access to mentoring; training, meaningful and relevant education and facilitates opportunities for employment.

We will ‘Konnect’ our clients with existing and bespoke provision in education, training and the work place, thus enabling them to move forwards and to participate in a more productive future.

Konnect has a range of support to help improve future employment prospects.

Konnect Communities offer support to help client(s) (unemployed or economically inactive) become clear on how to take positive steps towards their future and employment.

KAFE offers 1:1 and/or group-based support, we offer a unique blend of group cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), 1:1 coaching, mentoring, employability, vocational training, and community led open ended nurture support group.
We provide high quality, personalised mentoring, and support to overcome the hurdles that may be holding people back, enabling them to take the next steps onto a pathway to seek the role or training they need to make them flourish.

The support is guaranteed 1:1 coaching, mentoring, and individually tailored to include:

  • Lifestyle and Wellbeing: Cognitive behavioral therapy techniques with our dedicated Life Choices course (further information below).
  • Personal Development: Help build confidence, identify, and develop skills, identify strengths and passions.
  • Employment Support: Creating or updating your CV. Help completing application forms, preparing to take people through all the things needed for an interview (we will even go with them, if that’s what they need)
  • Job Search: Help set up job search accounts and search for jobs that match their skills.
  • Education and Training: Identify suitable courses or training, linking them with an advisor, research available funding.
  • Apprenticeships Opportunities: Apprenticeships are available across a wide range of sectors and job roles. Help will be given to know what is on offer, what to consider and how to apply.
  • Whatever else they may need: Our mentors will also help people access specialist support needed in a range of areas. From finances and housing to health concerns and addiction support. Whatever someone’s circumstances our supportive team understand that setbacks happen and will work to get people back on track.

    Life Choices:

Alongside the mentoring you can also access our successful Life Choices course, this can be delivered as a group or 1-1 with your mentor. Based upon cognitive behavioural therapy techniques, Life Choices supports you to review your life and to challenge negative thinking patterns which may be preventing you from moving on. The course seeks to help clear some or all those blocks, leaving sufficient ‘head space’ in which a future that includes work or learning can be considered.

    • “It has given me a mental toolset to challenge my way of thinking, so I actually take a step back and challenge my thoughts rather than just accepting them as they are” – LC 26/08/2021

Our mentors are not here to criticise or judge. Whatever the clients background or ambitions, our mentors will guide them towards a better place through building their confidence, motivation, and knowledge, as well as going through their experience, skills, strengths, and passions, to ensure that they seek the role or training they need to thrive.

If you would like to access this support or know of any clients that would benefit from the support on offer, which is fully funded (free to clients) then please share our contact details or you can refer the client directly yourself and a member of our team will get in touch.
