Dig Deeper programme: FREE nature-based activities for positive mental health
Work-related stress currently affects around 822,000 people (Health and Safety Executive). Nature can provide a coping mechanism to help people deal with poor mental health and even prevent it from developing further.
Sensory Trust's Dig Deeper project offers 4 week programmes around Cornwall, supporting people of a working age (18 - 65) living with mild to moderate levels of anxiety, depression and/or stress.
We are starting a new programme in Tregoniggie Woods in Falmouth in November, for people living in and around the area. Each session lasts 2 hours and runs for 4 consecutive weeks. The group is small, no more than 8 people.
Sessions are FREE and we can help with transport.
We provide all activities and refreshments and at this time of year there's a fire brazier to gather around and keep warm too!
Participants need to wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring a mug.
Each week, we take a different theme such as trees, birds, insects etc and explore and discover nature in ways we wouldn't normally do. For example, we use portable microscopes linked to smart phones to see nature in a micro level.
