Grass roots organisation managing the Community Hub, to provide services for residents on our 2 social housing estates.
We use the Community Organising model of engagement talking to residents to see what they think would improve where they live and what they would activley support. Consequently we have organised coffee mornings, swishes, family fun days, crafting workshops, childrens seasonal parties, carnival clubs and many more such events.
Our core projects are Friendship Cafe for adults, Doing Club for children aged 5 - 11, Youth Group for ages 11 - 16 and Hub Study for all school ages.
We also have a Community Garden and host many events and activities there throughout the year with residents welcome to help themselves to the produce we grow.
Our work is has been supported by Locality, Regenerate, Big Lottery, Cornwall Community Foundation, Santander and our local councillor's Community Chest.
We have built skills around grass roots engagement and can share our learning with other not for profit groups in Cornwall.
