Letter writing project with schools
Are you agred 65+?
Do you experience loneliness and isolation?
Do you live in Camborne?
If YES to all these, would like to be part of a letter writing project with local schools to share stories?
The Writers’ Block are looking for 5 individuals to take part in a letter writing project with local Camborne schools and to meet with our professional writers to share their stories over tea and coffee.
You will also meet professional writers to share tales and create short stories based on participants' lives to be made into postcards and audio stories. The project was a great success in 2021, with participants and school children reaping the benefits of making connection in the community and sharing stories, as well as bettering their letter writing skills.
The project will take place between January and March 2023. It will involve writing and receiving 4 letters from a local year 5 class and having two meetings with one of our writers to share stories, which will then be recreated into physical and audio stories.
If you're interested, please get in touch by 12 December so that we can plan the meetings in the new year.
