Love Falmouth
Love Falmouth is a Christian charity with the vision to enable communities and individuals in Falmouth to thrive. Our mission is to enable people from different socio-demographic groups to become spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically whole. We do this through targeted, specific projects and initiatives, including:
- School Chaplaincy: at Falmouth School. The project was launched in February 2016 in the form of a lunchtime drop in and has grown to run four lunchtime sessions working with over 250 students a week, school assemblies, special events and more. We are enabled to do this through our strong partnership with Falmouth school as well as a dedicated team of volunteers from several churches across Falmouth. "Our big idea is to inspire young people to 'live for more."
- No Child Without: In October 2020, we had the vision to ensure that no child in Falmouth (& the surrounding areas) went without a warm winter coat, access to fresh nutritional food and celebrations over the Christmas period. To address each element, we created 3 sub-projects; A Winter Coat Pop Up Shop, Fresh Nutritional Food Hampers and Christmas Holiday Activity Boxes. We are very aware that these needs are not exclusive to Christmas and with the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic, many families may experience hardship this year. Therefore we are continuing to offer our services to the families we worked with over Christmas, all year round. The services we are able to provide are based on what we did over Christmas, the feedback we received and the additional needs that arose.
- Family Time: Family Time was established in December 2012 and has run on a monthly basis ever since. The heartbeat of Family Time is creating a fun, safe and friendly environment to welcome families to, in order for them to spend quality time together. Family Time runs on a Saturday morning, once a month between 10.00am - 12.00 noon. During these sessions we have a family-centred craft activity which families can the takeaway. The craft provides helpful and empowering ways for parents or carers to connect with their children in every day life. We also have a bouncy castle, soft-play, toys for all ages and provide table games for families to play - all this alongside great coffee, homemade cakes and other refreshments. We also have extra Family Time events that celebrate particular times of the year. For example the Family Time Christmas Party, The Neon Light Party (a light & bright Halloween alternative), Easter Egg Hunts and many more.
