Bosavern Community Farm is a community supported agricultural project near St Just in West Penwith. We have been operating since 2010. We grow all sorts of vegetables on the farm, inside polytunnels and outside in our market garden and crop field. We also have chickens on site and sell their eggs alongside our veg. We sell our veg and eggs in our farm shop, through our veg box scheme, and at local farmers markets.

We are looking for volunteers to help in our farm shop on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Our shop stocks veg and eggs from the farm as well as dry goods and products from local suppliers. We tend to have between 15-25 customers per day.

The shop is open Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm. Some volunteers choose to help in the shop for the whole day whilst others choose to do a few hours in the morning or afternoon.

Shop volunteers receive full training.

The rota for the shop is very flexible and we often have volunteers who go on holiday or take time out for other reasons, therefore it is important for us to keep volunteer numbers up. If you are interested in volunteering in the shop but cannot do the days advertised please get in touch anyway and we can work something out.

We have a teabreak at 11-11:30am and a lunchbreak from 1-2pm everyday. Our tea breaks and lunches are a favourite part of everyone's day. It's a chance for volunteers and staff to get to know each other and share conversation. Chatting to like-minded people about farming, the environment, climate change etc is so valuable. Lunch is vegetarian and made using as much farm produce as possible, it is free for all volunteers who come for 4 hours or more.
