What: Picking and packing our veg boxes

When: Thursdays 10-3 (or for anytime within those hours)

Where: Bosavern Community Farm near St Just

Why?: To get outside in nature, learn about growing vegetables, socialise with like-minded people

Bosavern Community Farm is a community supported agricultural project near St Just in West Penwith. We have been operating since 2010 and have been providing veg boxes to the local community since 2011.

We are looking for people to join our Thursday volunteering session where we pick and pack our veg boxes. The session runs from 10am-3pm but there is no need to join for the entire length. An hour or two here and there is always welcome!

A typical harvest day runs as follows:

10-11am - Harvesting and veg box packing

11-11:30am - Morning tea/coffee break

11:30-1pm - More harvesting and veg box packing

1-2pm - Vegetarian lunch provided to all volunteers with us for 4 hours or more

2-3pm - More harvesting and veg box packing

Our tea breaks and lunches are a favourite part of everyone's day. It's a chance for volunteers and staff to get to know each other and share conversation. Chatting to like-minded people about farming, the environment, climate change etc is so valuable.

Harvesting is very low-key and involves a mixture of outdoor and indoor volunteering. It's a very peaceful way to get into veg growing and simply being in nature.
