Volunteer at Cotehele
Cotehele (National Trust) is an atmospheric Tudor house with Medieval roots, a working mill on an historic quay, a glorious garden with valley views and an expansive estate. Cotehele has a team of almost 300 volunteers that help as many people as possible utilise and benefit from this place.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help in several roles, these include:
- House Experience Volunteers: House Experience Volunteers bring Cotehele to life and provide a welcoming face to visitors. You don’t need to be an expert on history or have any qualifications, you just need to like to speak to people. This role can take place any day of the week from either 10:30 – 16:30 or 11:45 – 16:00.
- Shuttle Bus Drivers: In this role you would be driving visitors between the house, quay and mill. Cotehele is for everyone and our drivers enable all of our visitors to enjoy everything we have to offer. We need drivers on Thursdays, Sundays and for ad hoc days, you need to have a driving licence.
- Mill Bakers: In this role you get to bake seasonal treats for visitors in the beautiful Cotehele Mill, if you love baking and talking to new people this role would be perfect for you.
- Gardeners or Garden Guides: These roles keep our special places looking spectacular. If you have a passion for gardening and want to either get your hands dirty or speak to visitors about the beautiful plants growing in the garden then this is the role for you. This role is typically 10:00 – 15:30.
You don’t need to be available every week and we welcome those who want to volunteer on a more ad hoc basis as well, you never have to be an expert and training is provided. Each role has a supportive team to work with and this brings with it a great sense of friendship and belonging.
