You don’t need to get on a boat to help save lives at sea
You may have experience coordinating people or projects, building local relationships or bringing people together to achieve a shared goal. If you enjoy working with others, influencing positive change and helping make a difference locally, this could be the volunteer role for you.
From Looe's busy harbour and fishing community to the beaches, coves, coastal paths and popular watersports locations across South East Cornwall, people enjoy the water in many different ways. As a volunteer Water Safety Officer, you'll play a leading role in shaping local water safety priorities and helping reach the people most at risk with the right advice and information.
You'll need a good knowledge of the local coastline, coastal environments and water-based activities, alongside the ability to communicate effectively, build positive relationships and keep things organised. You don't need to be a water safety expert from day one, as training and support will be provided.
It's a flexible opportunity that can fit around your other interests and commitments. You'll join a friendly, dedicated team and receive training and support to help you succeed in the role.
