Newquay Art for Wellbeing
What is it all about? – A recovery focused, art group, offering 12 fortnightly sessions.
What can I expect? – A warm welcome, and a chance of some creative ‘me’ time.
What do I need? – No experience necessary, just a willingness to have a go. You will need a set of supplies for sketching, which includes an A4 sketch pad, 12 sketching pencils, a kneadable putty eraser, pencil sharpener and ruler.
When? – Tuesdays, 10.00am-12.00pm, fortnightly.
How could it help my wellbeing? – Being creative can provide a welcome distraction from life’s stresses, helping to reduce the symptoms of anxiety and depression. Learning a new skill can really boost confidence, self esteem and feelings of self worth. You can continue using the art skills learnt as a wellbeing tool to help stay well. The group also provides social contact, opportunities for friendship, and access to peer and professional support.
How do I join? – E.mail [email protected] and we will put you in touch with a project co-ordinator
