Founder

I founded 99p films nearly 2 years ago with a clear mission in mind. To bring people together and increase are awareness and understanding around social and environmental issues, but to do so in a way in which benefits our mental and physical health and involves collective action and rebuilding our communities. The Social Cinema curation of Breathe - Watch - Discuss - Eat has evolved over time, testing what works and what our audiences value and see a benefit in. From the mindful breathing at the start that helps with wellbeing, to the audience led discussions that allow people to share and listen to each other and tackle the isolation and loneliness many of us experience. To the communal feasts, that support British Farmers who grow in regenerative ways increasing biodiversity and soil health and the local chefs who turn this into delicious hearty meals that fills our audience with nutrients and tackles food poverty and allows them to have direct action by eating part of the solution!
