An area of which I feel as if I have expertise would undoubtedly be working with clients with dementia. Having first-hand experienced how hard it can be for families to adjust their daily lives to accommodate for the care of a loved one. I feel as if my experience can present solutions not only for the client but solutions for family members too, bringing a sense of calm and peace to the environment, I will try different approaches to providing the care based on which approach has the best active response from the client. I offer the best matched feeling of a routine possible for both client and family. I also feel as though I possess a particular compassion and understanding to comfort those who have recently lost a loved one. Dealing with bereavement isn’t easy for anybody so making somebody feel secure enough to open up and share their emotions is a definite strength of mine.  

I have a keen interest in offering clients a chance to an out of the ordinary care experience, escorted trips to the cinema, afternoon tea, swimming, theatre, art galleries, live music, group excursions, trips to historical sites, short breaks away with personal care provided. I give clients the opportunity and hands on support to go and accomplish goals they may have previously ruled out.
