Provide free confidential face to face budgeting, debt and benefit advice
We live in one of the most depriced regions in the UK and at present are seeing higher levels of unemployent, broken relationships, rising mental health issues and increasing housing and utility costs. As a result, more and more people are falling into debt.
Being in debt can be a frightening experience and many people try and ignore their money problems. They may take out more loans to try and keep up repayments or ignore all communications from their creditors.
It is a big step to ask for help but many people feel a sense of relief when they have found someone to talk about their debts and more importantly someone who will not judge them.
Our team of 10 volunteers are all training to give free professional impartial advice.
We are affilliated to Community Money Advice which supports over 180 centres like ours across the UK. We are fully insured to give debt advice and are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
