Bodmin Way is improving the wellbeing of residents in the town and nearby villages. As a social enterprise owned by local parish churches, its network of relationships and facilities are deeply embedded in the community. The staff, volunteers and directors are particularly committed to support those who face the most challenges. It provides a range of opportunities for everyone.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Giving individuals and families a lift in life
Wellbeing, improving mental health, enabling fun and helping people are what we believe in at The Bodmin Way. A combination of grants procured by The Bodmin Way and donations from church members fund supporting the community. The needs in our community are varied and growing with the financial pressures people face.
We cannot describe on the web much of the support provided as it is very private. However, there are many examples of the support given to families, children, vulnerable people, the financially challenged, the elderly and others going through a crisis that we can tell you about:
- Working with the foodbank, referring people and directly providing food for families when the foodbank is not open
- Providing supermarket vouchers and help with fuel bills
- Snack and activity bags as well as food parcels
- Many activity ideas and resources online for those in need or lockdown
- Pop up summer picnics in local parks and letters to Santa at Christmas
- Health and wellbeing bags, essential baby bundles and family fun bags all giving children and families a lift
- Bags of items tailored for family care, ladies, senior ladies, gentlemen, teens and household essentials
- Many guided walks along the Bodmin Way routes to improve health and wellbeing
