Chyvarhas is a 36 bed nursing home for people in need of residential and nursing care. With qualified nurses and carers, we look after our residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in a supportive, homely and dignified environment. Our staff are passionate about their roles and get to know each resident individually. Our lovely home is located in Callington, between the rustic beauty of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, and we would love for you to see it. Visitors are welcome at any time.
With lots of space to walk around in, as well as cosy areas where residents can sit and relax. Our kitchen serves a freshly made menu each day and our main lounge is the centre for all activities. Our meals are all made from scratch, special diets are catered for and our chef won the Chef/Kitchen Staff award recently at the Outstanding Cornwall Care Awards ceremony.
The lounge has views over the gardens and double doors that lead out to the sensory garden. Our garden is safe and comfortable with pathways, seats, water features and raised flowerbeds so everyone can enjoy the outdoors.
Chyvarhas means ‘meeting point’ in Cornish and we have many visitors from far and wide; this adds to the feeling of warmth and affection here.
Individuality and comfort are important to us; we have lots of lovely spaces for our residents to enjoy and many visitors each day. Our residents and their loved ones are what gives Chyvarhas its unique charm and sense of identity. It’s up to our residents how they wish to spend their time, whether that’s sitting down with a good book, taking part in scheduled activities such as music and crafts, taking a nap in our quiet zones or doing a bit of gardening. There’s always something fun for our residents to do!
