Cornwall Care - Pengover, Liskeard
Pengover is a 36 bed nursing home for people in need of dementia care. We care for our residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we like to believe that we perform a little magic here. Our staff promote independence and understand different illnesses. They are highly trained, professional and passionate about their roles and the lives of our residents.
Pengover is set in the ancient market town of Liskeard, 20 miles west of Plymouth. Built for the comfort and wellbeing of the people we care for, our lovely home is surrounded by large, safe gardens that were originally designed by our residents. The gardens are wheelchair friendly with level lawns and pathways, which can be accessed at any time. There are also three large conservatories and four lounges, where our residents can enjoy sitting down with a good book, taking part in our scheduled activities, or taking a little nap in the afternoon sun.
Individuality and freedom are important to us; at Pengover there are many lovely spaces that are ideal for reading, relaxing, watching films or television, pursuing activities or having conversations with friends and relatives. It is entirely up to our residents how they wish to spend their time, whether that means flicking through a magazine or getting out in the grounds for a bit of gardening, they have their own choices. Residents and their families are encouraged to suggest activities and entertainment for the home, to take part in our events and get involved, but ultimately, it is completely up to them.
