What is the Sunshine and Showers group for?
Helping our disabled, elderly, vulnerable or isolating people within our local area. Even if it's just lending an ear on the phone to an elderly or vulnerable person, going shopping or collecting supplies, collecting prescriptions etc.
THIS IS HOW: Answer shout outs for help in the page if you can offer assistance.
Ask if your neighbours need any shopping done?
When shopping where possible shop small and essential only so your not handling too much cash or bulk buying. Drop off at the door. Use wipes on door handles etc. Scarf round mouth. Gloves don't help. Use hand gels and alcohol wipes to clean your hands on the move. Have a chat to cheer them up just don't stand too close.
Dog walking - some of our vulnerable can't get out to walk their dogs, is there anyone near you that needs your help? Or do you need help? If so ask!
Some people can't get to the chemist to get their medication. Can you do it for them?
NEW **Advocacy and mentoring - we now have 2 volunteers who are helping others by advocating for them when they can't do it for themselves due to sickness or disability.
