Cornwall Link Update - 8th December, 2020
Cornwall COVID-19 Status: Tier 1
We are working with the community and members on Cornwall Link to update the information in our listings. The information may require updates because the government regulations could have impacted the service, event, activity or volunteering opportunity. While we do this, we advise that you use the contact details in the listings to speak with the organisers directly.
We thank you for your patience while we work on these updates. Please see our community COVID-19 Help page for more information on the regulations.
CELEBRATING CREATIVITY IN EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES
At the height of the covid-19 pandemic we invited people of any age and at any location, to document their life during lockdown on postcards. We asked them to use any medium that would work on an A5 postcard to share some of their experience of this extraordinary time. They might be inspired by new routines or talents discovered, objects in their home that have become all too familiar, or whatever it is that they were looking forward to when the lockdown restrictions were relaxed. This exhibition celebrates creativity in exceptional circumstances.
Local groups including St Petroc’s homeless charity, Whole Again Communities, schools and residential homes, WILD young parents, Cornwall Library borrowers, the Intercom Trust and Shallal have contributed to the project. We have also had submissions from far flung places: from all over Cornwall, the UK, Europe to the Far East and the United States.
Artists have also been responding to these times, creating posters and billboards for public sites across the UK. We have brought together many of the most pertinent for a display facing out from the gallery garden.
