A hub for community support, providing practical help in an uplifting environment.
What We Do
As a community support hub, the objective of the Grow Centre is to show the love of God in practical ways by helping people in need. We provide the following free support to individuals and families in Camelford, Cornwall and the surrounding areas:
- “Home basics packs” of toiletries and household supplies
- Gently used and new clothing, school uniform, shoes, etc.
- Camelford Foodbank donations, box collection & voucher referrals
- CV writing support
- Special community activities and events, such as our “back-to-school packs” project
- Signposting to additional/other support as needed
How We Do It
The Grow Centre is a community support project of Souls Harbour Church in Camelford and is led by the founders of UK for Jesus. As a charity project, the Grow Centre is funded by donations, grants and sponsorships. In fact, most of our funding is provided by the generosity of local people and businesses, which is why we aim to put the resulting support and services directly back into this local community.
Why We Do It
Every person is valuable and has a purpose. As Christians, we also believe that every person has been created by and is loved by God, and we want to show His real love and hope to our community through practical help and support. Whilst supplementing the other great community support projects and activities happening in this area, our hope is to build a broad network to make an even bigger impact together. Perhaps even opening more Grow Centre’s in other small communities to provide similar help, support and encouragement to people in need.
