Growing Links CIC is a Community Interest Company working to generate a more sustainable,
resilient and accessible local food system through:
Education
Natural, chemical-free horticulture
Applied permaculture
Giving people access to seasonal, locally grown food
Seasonal and healthy cooking
Bringing communities together to celebrate and eat

Growing Links CIC was created in 2013 as an action against food poverty.  We wanted to redress the balance between people in our community going hungry despite increased food waste nationally.

Our projects:

Street Food Project is a hot meal service that operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This volunteer-led service was created to support Penzance's homeless and/or vulnerably housed, as well as families and individuals suffering from poverty.

SFP volunteers and supporters cook hearty and nutritious food nightly and use the meal service to engage with members of our community who often feel marginalized by their circumstances.

Over dinner and a friendly chat, we offer support and advice by linking people up to other agencies in the local community.
SFP, together with volunteers from our Food Store, also put together shopping bags of store cupboard essentials for families or individuals in need.

Where: 1, Guildhall Road, Penzance
Lunch: 12 - 3 pm
Dinner: 5.30 - 7pm

The Community Garden is a therapeutic space for all to enjoy. People are invited to participate in horticulture for well being or just come and enjoy the garden. The garden is one and a half acres of land used for growing flowers, fruits, and vegetables according to natural, chemical-free principles. You are welcome to visit all year round.

We deliver our local veg bags every Wednesday which are also available for one-off purchase at the Exchange Gallery cafe.
The garden also hosts workshops and courses throughout the year. Please check our calendar for further details.

Where: Posses Lane, Gulval, Penzance TR183FJ

Our food store has been set up to supply store cupboard essentials, as well as fresh vegetables, to families and individuals in the community around us in West Cornwall.

In an area where incomes are low and work is often seasonal, many families and individuals are having to choose between paying their bills and rent, heating their homes or eating. With help and support from our local community, Growing Links has been building up a supply of store cupboard essentials to help families and individuals who, for a multitude of reasons, are experiencing poverty. We offer a discreet, friendly, and non-judgmental service delivering a weekly bag of food to your door for as long as help is needed.
