Helston Town Council Community Support
We are delighted that since Monday, more than 80 people have volunteered to assist the Helston Community Emergency Team and we want to empower more in the Helston area. We encourage others to offer their services as a volunteer, the greater the number of available volunteers, the lower the demand that is placed on any individual.
From March 23rd, we will operate six days a week (Mon-Sat) 9am to 8pm, until further notice.
We are seeing three tiers of support from Cornwall. The 1st is from friends, neighbours and relatives. The 2nd is from social groups and community databases. The 3rd is from services like ours that help to facilitate solutions when the 1st and 2nd tiers cannot provide the answer.
We help volunteers and people in need navigate how to deliver on support. For example, if you are unable to make a safe point of money exchange with one of our volunteers for shopping, volunteers can take their receipts for purchases to the council, we will pay the volunteer and we will hold the debt on behalf of the individual until a more suitable time.
The Community Emergency Team plan to identify those who are self-isolating for whatever reason, whether you are vulnerable due to age, have a pre-existing medical condition or need support. We will help everyone who needs it. If you don’t have relatives, neighbours or friends that are able to help you, please contact the Community Emergency Team on

Or
e-mail at [email protected]
We will be contacting the volunteers directly.
