Newquay Foodbank Volunteers Needed
Newquay Foodbank provides emergency food and compassionate, practical support to people in crisis, while campaigning for a UK without the need for foodbanks. Without our volunteers, selflessly donating their time, we simply would not be able to support the thousands of people in crisis.
The number of people needing food banks has increased in recent years and we anticipate this trend to continue especially in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. As a volunteer you will play a vital role to assist our Foodbank to meet the demand for our services, providing help and support to people in crisis in the local community.
We are currently in need of support in the following roles;
- Stock Manager - lead of our warehouse. Manages overall stock and ensures stock rotation. Coordinates with drivers to ensure stock arrives at required sessions. Liaises with Collection Coordinator & Stock Administrator.
- Stock Assistant - supports the Stock Manager to ensure stock rotation, stock control and movement of stock to sessions.
- Deliverers - support sessions in delivering food parcels to clients who are unable to make it to sessions. Expenses reimbursed.
- Shoppers - liaise with Site Manager and Stock Manager to ensure sites have adequate stock and purchase items as required. Expenses reimbursed
- Emergency Point of Contact - suporting the Signposting Officer outside of session hours and liaise with deliverers to drop off food parcels unable to attend sessions.
- Social Medial Lead - liaisses with Communications Lead to run all Foodbank social media accounts to raise the profile accordingly. Engage with the public and forward enquiries onto relevant teams.
