Quiet Meet Up Strawberry Picking at Trevaskis Farm - 9th July
Gently connecting those of us who are quieter, more sensitive or socially anxious in a safe, supportive space.
Strawberry Picking at Trevaskis Farm
Saturday 9th July at 11am.
Check out the farm here: www.trevaskisfarm.co.uk
What we’re doing:
We'll be taking time to connect with and appreciate nature by picking ourselves some delicious local grown strawberries (and possibly other fruits).
Trevaskis is a family run farm which took off with fruit picking 30 years ago, after having little success growing vegetables.
If you have a recipe for the strawberries we pick, we would love to see it and share it with our QC community! (Our favourite is an Eton Mess!)
Once we are happy with our pickings, there is the option to relax with a drink in the tea room, and possibly a slice of cake, or a cream tea.
Meeting Point:
- We'll meet at 11am in the Trevaskis Farm car park. Look for Michele (pictured below).
- Please dress appropriately. If it's been raining, welly boots would be recommended.
Cost:
Free to enter the farm. The cost for picking fruit is subject to the weight that you pick. The farm charges by the lb/kg. Please bring money if you would like to purchase a drink or bite to eat at the cafe after fruit picking.
You must RSVP to let us know you are coming.
Where To Find Us:
- Trevaskis Farm Restaurant, Gwinear Rd, Connor Downs, Hayle, TR27 5JQ
- Parking is free.
- Accessibility: The car park provides four priority disabled parking spaces and wheelchair access to the restaurant and farm market. Cars can be easily pulled up to the ramp outside the restaurant for easier access. The car park surface itself is gravel; the restaurant entrance is a stone-slabbed ramp.
- The farm park is sometimes, though not reliably, accessible for wheelchairs as pathways are mud or gravel and can become uneven particularly in wet weather. They are frequently levelled out in dry weather, however we recommend phoning in advance for advice before travelling to the farm if using a wheelchair as farm accessibility is weather dependent.
Travel:
- By car: Take the A30, towards Hayle. Treswithian exit onto Roseworthy Hill. At the staggered crossroads, turn left onto Gwinear Road. Trevaskis Farm is signposted on the right.
- By bus: there is a bus stop on Horsepool Road, Connor Downs. The walk is approx 11 minutes, 0.4 miles. Plan your route here.
