Sunshine and Showers Peer Support Group was set up in 2012 to provide a fun meeting place for people with all kinds of disabilities to get together, have fun, share positive stories around recovery from illness and grow in confidence within the local community.
It was set up in response to the lack of regular fun activities for disabled or mentally unwell adults as a kind of lifeline and somewhere to come every 2 weeks without fail knowing that they have a friend or two to talk to and some time out from ill health.
SAS is an adult peer support group running mostly from Truro Bowling Alley but also has a project called "Out and About" which does day trips around Cornwall in a minibus.
SAS is non profit and run by its voluntary founder Claire Jones and voluntary treasurer Karen Sheldon Allen with some members also as helpers for people less able.
