Cornwall COVID-19 Status: Tier 1
We are working with the community and members on Cornwall Link to update the information in our listings. The information may require updates because the government regulations could have impacted the service, event, activity or volunteering opportunity. While we do this, we advise that you use the contact details in the listings to speak with the organisers directly.
We thank you for your patience while we work on these updates. Please see our community COVID-19 Help page for more information on the regulations.
Help support the most vulnerable people in our community
It is clear that like so many essential services we are facing a shortage of key workers. Key workers support the most vulnerable people in our community. Cornwall is looking to us to help those who are more vulnerable than ourselves.
We are teaming up with Cornwall Council, and other agencies, charities and colleges, to make sure essential services are still available for our residents. We are jointly leading on the recruitment and training.
Many are supporting our Community Care team to provide personal and practical care and support the most vulnerable in our communities.
Our Care team is facing an unprecedented challenge at this critical time to ensure we can continue to provide our vital services. Therefore, we need more people to provide support to build a resilient team and are seeking people to join us the following areas:
Medical support and care. This involves injections and administering pain management.Personal care and reablement care. This involves providing support in the morning and the evening with:
- getting washed
- getting dressed
- getting safely to the toilet
- monitoring health, wellbeing and progress
Practical care and support. This involves:
- welfare checks
- meal preparation
- shopping for essential supplies
- collecting prescriptions
- some cleaning
Appropriate training will be provided for all roles. Our experienced management team will be there to provide you with full support. We will of course keep everyone safe, risk assessing all activities using all the available clinical guidance, before undertaking any work.
